Communication Across the Day for Complex Learners Using AAC

Communication Across the Day for Complex Learners Using AAC

Communication is always happening and is one of the most important ways to improve student outcomes; build contextually appropriate behaviors, increase social interactions, allow for more inclusion and overall academics. In this training we’ll take a look at building in communicative opportunities across the student’s day.  Whatever mode of communication: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), picture exchange, sign language, or vocal there are always opportunities for modeling, interacting, and building language. Making a plan for how opportunities can be incorporated into the day helps the team to be on the same page and understand their role in helping to allow the opportunities that will lead to the student’s growth and success across activities, environments and communication partners.
