This two-part series will provide an overview of the development of executive functioning (EF) skills in early childhood (ages 3-6 years), as well as an introduction to strategies to support the early development of EF skills in young children with EF challenges. After attending this webinar participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of executive functioning (EF) in early childhood development, particularly in developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) 

  • Identify potential signs of EF challenges in young children with DD/ASD

  • Understand the research evidence for how EF relates to long-term functional outcomes in DD/ASD

  • Explain the transdiagnostic role of EF in common childhood mental health issues
