Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy in Schools for School Administrators and School Staff Part 1

Presented by Vanessa Tucker, BCBA-D

Some fundamental questions that will be explored in this training include: What is a BCBA and what is the difference between school-based and clinic-based ABA
services? How do you differentiate between FAPE/IEP services and clinically-based treatment plan?

Do schools already provide services based on ABA? Is there a need to partner with outside ABA providers for services for students with autism or behavioral challenges? What evidence-based practices in school are already based upon the foundations of ABA?
How do you effectively navigate your teams through potential problems and perhaps most importantly, what do schools stand to gain when this is done right? Should BCBAs be hired as related service providers by school districts? How do schools respond to requests for ABA services during the day, or for a reduced school day so
their child can attend a clinic for services?
